【摘要】:Sonicvelocitymeasurementsareusefulforcomparingmaterials.AvalueforYoung''smoduluscanbeobtainedformanyapplications,whichwillbeingoodagreementwiththevalueobtainedbyothermethods,suchasinTestMethodC747.TheaccuracyoftheYoung''smoduluscalculatedfromEq1willdependupontheuncertaintyinPoisson''sratioanditsimpactontheevaluationofthePoisson''sfactorinEq2.Ifthegrainsizeofthecarbonorgraphiteisgreaterthanoraboutequaltothewavelengthofthesonicpulse,themethodmaynotbeprovidingavalueofYoungx2019;smodulusrepresentativeofthebulkmaterial.Therefore,itwouldbedesirabletotestalowerfrequency(longerwavelength)todemonstratethatvelocityisindependentoffrequency.Significantsignalattenuationshouldbeexpectedwhenthegrainsizeofthematerialisgreaterthanoraboutequaltothewavelengthofthetransmittedsonicpulse.Ifthesampleisonlyafewgrainsthick,theacceptabilityofthemethodx2019;sapplicationshouldbedemonstratedbyinitiallyperformingmeasurementsonaseriesoftestscoveringarangeofsamplelengthsbetweentheproposedtestlengthandatestlengthincorporatingsufficientgrainstoadequatelyrepresentthebulkmaterial.1.1ThistestmethodcoversaprocedureformeasuringthesonicvelocityinmanufacturedcarbonandgraphitewhichcanbeusedtoobtainYoung''smodulus.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
